Will it fit my basket?
Yes, if it's a standard bushel basket (about 18 inches across the top) or a standard half bushel basket (about 14 inches). The lid sits on top and overhangs a little. Our full bushel lid is about 22 inches across; the half bushel lid is about 16 inches.
Which side is the front?
Either one. Each lid has smooth wood grain on one side and bead-board lines on the other. Flip it to whichever you like.
Can I paint it?
Yes. Lids ship unfinished, so they take paint, stain, or sealer well. We don't paint, stencil, or customize them ourselves.
Is it safe to use with live crabs?
Yes. The lid is plain, untreated wood, and the vent slots let air through.
How thick is it?
About 1 cm, roughly 3/8 of an inch.
