Bushel Basket Lids is a small family business in Germantown, Maryland. We make one thing: solid wooden lids that fit standard full bushel and half bushel baskets.
Around the Chesapeake, the bushel basket is how crabs have been carried and sold for generations. A good lid keeps the crabs in, lets the air through, and stacks on the truck. We couldn't find one worth buying, so we started making our own.
Every lid is cut and sanded here in Maryland. Each one has smooth wood grain on one side and bead-board lines on the other, so you can flip it to match your basket, your porch, or your party. They ship unfinished, ready to paint, stain, or seal.
